The First Rule of Email Marketing: Stop Talking about Email Marketing

The first rule of email marketing is: Stop talking about email marketing.

I speak to countless people who tell me that email marketing is on their list of things to do over the next 12 months or so. I often wonder what else is on that list that prevents them from engaging their existing list of clients and prospects with email marketing.

If you are still looking for the magic formula to make your paid search campaigns more profitable, or you are looking for a hook to convert friends to buyers via your social media campaigns, then perhaps you should be looking further down your list to email marketing.

If you already have customers, you may have actively started building a list. If you can list your products online (via your own website or even on eBay), you are already technically competent enough to kick-start your first email marketing campaign – it really is that simple.

It’s time to move email marketing up to the top of your marketing to-do list and start reaping the rewards of today’s most efficient marketing technology.

So why are we still talking about it?

The time for email marketing is now.
